Along the coastline is evidence of abandoned crofts and castles, reflecting the turbulent Highland clearances of the 19th century, while the jagged peaks of the Torridon mountains loom ever-present. The picture-postcard villages of Plockton, Shieldaig and Applecross provide idyllic anchorages while the fjord-like sea lochs offer fantastic cruising. No trip would be complete without a visit to award-winning Inverewe Gardens before cruising up to the uninhabited archipelago of the Summer Isles and its resident seals. Against the backdrop of the Assynt mountains, cruise from Lochinver past the Old Man of Stoer and, if conditions are favourable, visit the nature reserve at Handa Island. A short trip across the Minch to spot thousands of seabirds on the Shiant Isles makes this a cruise to remember.

Beautifully prepared meals from the best local produce from land and sea on the west coast of Scotland
Dining on board our vessels is informal and friendly with meals served at the communal table in the deck saloon. The menu is freshly prepared each day to a very high standard by the onboard Chef. The west coast of Scotland is famed for its fish, shellfish, lamb, beef and venison as well as speciality produce such as cheeses and preserves.
Each meal is generally served at anchor in a new idyllic location, carefully chosen by your Skipper, although occasionally you may dine while en route. Breakfast is served between 8am – 9am, lunch is around 1pm, afternoon tea is served at around 4pm and dinner at 7.30pm. These times may alter a little depending on the cruise itinerary. There is a new set menu each day but individual food tastes and dietary requirements are catered for.
Teas, coffees, soft drinks, fruit and snacks are available all day. House wine is provided free with dinner. Under the guidance of Master Sommelier Nigel Wilkinson we have selected new house wines.

The boat has a well-stocked bar and drinks from the bar are the only item you will be asked to pay for throughout your cruise.
Over the past 15 years The Majestic Line has established small-ship cruising on the west coast of Scotland, providing an authentic and unique personal experience for each and every guest. Glen Massan and Glen Tarsan are lovingly converted from traditional fishing boats and offer 3-night and 6-night cruises for 11 guests. Glen Etive and Glen Shiel are our two purpose-built steel-hulled ships and they undertake 10-day voyages to Spectacular Skye, the Outer Hebrides and St Kilda and our newly introduced North West Coast route, with 6-day cruises to Skye and the Small Isles and a 3-night Taste of the Hebrides cruise with 12 guests onboard. They all deliver comfortable stylish accommodation whether you are looking for a bespoke Inner Hebrides escape or an epic Outer Hebridean adventure.
Our vessels are designed to encourage informality and relaxation, with an indoor deck saloon where guests gather and everyone dines together. Glen Etive and Glen Shiel also have observation saloons for relaxing and wildlife watching. Three outdoor decks are perfect for alfresco drinks and canapes, soaking up the scenery and wildlife watching.
